Every year, Friends of Fellsmere Heights invites residents of Malden and Medford to make lanterns and carry them at dusk around Fellsmere Pond. This year's Walk will be Saturday, August 23 (Rain date: Sunday, August 24), at the Savin Street entrance to Fellsmere Park. Folks are invited to arrive any time from from 4:30 PM on. The Walk will start shortly after 7 PM. 

What will you find there? You'll be able to decorate a lantern made from a recycled plastic bottle covered with tissue paper. You'll get a string of LED lights to light it with, and a handle to carry it. And at dusk, you'll be invited to join us as we walk around Fellsmere Pond, carrying our lanterns into the evening light.

There will also be a Table Magician, a face-painter, and some simple food and water. You're always welcome to bring a chair or blanket, or a picnic supper. We recommend bug spray and sunscreen. Water will be available.
